I’m a video editor, based in Austin, TX, but born and raised in Nashville, TN. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Christian University’s Honors program with a degree in Film-Television-Digital Media. I know college degrees don’t necessarily reflect skill level in a field, but mine is an indicator that I work harder than most, show up on time, meet deadlines, and I know how to learn.
I have years of both academic and professional experience as an editor. I’ve interned for 2 different post houses, and both internships grew into paid staff positions. Between the two jobs, I’ve worked on music videos, media needs for the Country Music Association annual festival, a reality show for MTV2, and internal and commercial media for clients such as Texas Health Resources and Brinker International. I now work as an Assistant Editor on multiple reality shows such as “Shipping Wars” on A&E.
My sophomore year at TCU I was the Executive Story Producer on an eight episode exclusively student-run reality show called Top Grad. That experience allowed me to learn how to take dozens of hours of raw footage, find the story in it, and distill it into a 22-minute product. Editing the series taught me how to lead (since I supervised a team of editors), made me an accomplished storyteller, and inspired my thesis paper, which explored sociolinguistic approaches to editing in reality television.
Combining this with around a dozen narrative-driven student films (including a musical, which I also starred in), I’ve accrued valuable experience in a wide variety of genres. Please explore my site, look through some of my work, and don’t hesitate to contact me!
